The Road to Glory: EASHL Football Quarter-Finals Draw Announced!

The atmosphere was electric at the Fresh Handling playground today as representatives from across the Entebbe Airport community gathered for the highly anticipated draw for the EASHL Football Quarter-Finals. With the group stage now complete after UPDF Airforce FC thrumped Fresh handling FC  4 - 0, we officially enter the knockout phase, and the path to the finals is now clearly defined.

The level of anticipation was palpable, and we are delighted to report that the process was conducted with the utmost transparency, a fact that was genuinely appreciated and acknowledged by all club representatives present.

The Quarter-Final Matchups

The top eight teams have been drawn, and the knockout action begins next week! The Quarter-Finals will be hosted at the Fresh Handling Playground, promising four days of intense, high-stakes football.

The excitement continues into the following week, with the Semi-Finals scheduled as follows:

Semi-Final 1: Winner A vs Winner C (Tuesday, December 2nd, 2025)

Semi-Final 2: Winner B vs Winner D (Thursday, December 4th, 2025).

Celebrating Our Core Purpose

This league, founded in 2008, has always held the main objective of bringing together Entebbe Airport stakeholders—a vision that continues to grow stronger each year. As one of our co-founders, Mr. Ochai Erick, reminded us, the EASHL began life as the "Independence Cup" before graduating into the strong, unified league we know today.

We were also thrilled to officially welcome the new league patron and General Secretary for the Amalgamated Transport & General Works Union, Mr. Ololo Denis. His leadership and commitment will be invaluable as the league continues to expand its reach and impact within the airport community said the league chairman PC Kasadha Joel.

The EASHL Gala: More Than Just Football

Before the final whistle blows on the football tournament, the community will gather for the spectacular EASHL Gala on Saturday, November 29th, 2025.

Starting at 8:00 AM at the Fresh Handling playground, the Gala will feature a host of other sporting activities designed to promote fun, fitness, and unity across the different companies:

A Call for Unity and Esprit De Corps

As we head into the high-pressure environment of the knockout rounds, we want to echo the strong message emphasized by our members today: the focus must remain on teamwork and esprit de corps. We urge all participants to maintain the spirit of camaraderie and sportsmanship that defines our league, and to strictly avoid any unnecessary negative competition.

Let the games begin! We look forward to seeing everyone out to support their teams and celebrate the spirit of the Entebbe Airport community.
