ENTEBBE, UGANDA — December 13, 2025 — The Entebbe Airport Stakeholders League (EASHL) management, sponsors, and partners express profound sadness and heartfelt condolences following the passing of Mr. Abima Stephen, the esteemed Secretary General of the Amalgamated Transport and General Workers' Union (ATGWU).
Mr. Abima Stephen was a distinguished leader whose commitment and service to the transport and general workers of Uganda were exemplary. As the head of ATGWU, a key partner and supporter of the EASHL, his dedication to the welfare of the airport community was deeply valued and recognised by all stakeholders involved in the league.
W01 Dr. Kintu Edmund, the Public Relations Officer for the EASHL, & President for the Federation of Tug of War Associations Uganda stated:
"We are devastated by the loss of Mr. Abima Stephen. His passing is a significant blow not just to the ATGWU family, but to the entire Entebbe Airport community that he served with such passion and integrity.
