UGANDA INTER UNIVERSITY TUG OF WAR BAZAAR 2025 

The event slated for Saturday, September 27th 2025.

The Inaugural inter - university Tug of war bazaar will be a one day event in a venue yet to be confirmed by the planning committee.

On the 15th July 2025, the federation team was led by the FUTWA President Kintu Edmund made a Courtesy visit to more than 10 universities in a bid to introduce and officially invite universities to participate in the highly anticipated event.

 The tournament will be a  thrilling and mouth watering sports & entertaining experience, showcasing impressive skills, and sportsmanship.

Among the universities visited were the excited Earnest Cook University whose Guild council welcomed the federation's idea to hold such an event and the dean of students at the International University of East Africa Miss Natasha Sonet who went on to say:

 "This is exciting and given the sports facilities we have at our university, we can't wait to be part of this. This will showcase involvement among our students, a form of  increasing individuals Universities visibility and collaboration. I love this." added Miss Natasha Sonet the dean of students International University of East Africa.

Other universities that welcomed the FUTWA delegation include;-

6. St Lawrence University 
7. Ndejje University (Kampala campus)
8. Nkumba University (Kampala campus)

10. Team University 
11. Cavendish University

4.Almustafa University 
To have a more fun filled experience for the event, the federation official also visited Galaxy FM /TV studios for arranging for partnerships that directly aline with the university audiences. 
The FUTWA President acknowledged that this is just a tip of the icebag regarding the multiple events they have in store as one of their avenues of achieving full NCS recognition by end of 2025 a journey they embarked on since 2020 despite the 2years of COVID-19 setback. 

The Federation of Tug of War Associations in Uganda (FUTWA) is looking forward to having at least 25 universities participating that day therefore we still call upon more universities / higher institutions of learning to come on board and welcome the invitations when approached to take part in the event with a  theme "#Tug my University My Pride" focused at promoting our brands/universities through Tug of war sport.
