Federation of Uganda Tug of War Associations explores Partnership with Buganda Kingdom.

The Federation of Uganda Tug of War Associations (FUTWA) represented by Ronald Mayanja-Omugalanda the General Secretary, Mr Sevume Joshua the Marketing Manager FUTWA and Nusrah Sittankya the Tug of War Buganda Kingdom Coordinator visited Hon. Ssekabembe Kiberu the Minister of Sports in the Government of Buganda today morning to explore a working relationship.

Among the items discussed was FUTWA's request to introduce the sport of TUG OF WAR ( Ensitano yo Muguwa) in the Kingdom of Buganda.

In his remarks, Hon. Ssekabembe welcomed the Tug of War Sport and requested FUTWA to avail National Council of Sports clearence to aid the kick off process of FUTWA's working relationship with the Kingdom of Buganda. 
He added that Tug of War ( Ensitano yo Muguwa) sport can be bundled with other non-stand alone games like ekiggwo among others. 

In the same way, Tug of War is a great sport in promoting teamwork and unity within clans.
Mr. Sevume Joshua (FUTWA Marketing manager) added that Tug of War ( Ensitano yo Muguwa) Sport will increase Masaza Tournament supporter turnup since every Saza will have to create its own Tug of war team which will be made up of it's supporters. The Masaza Tug of war Competition may act as a carten raiser game before and during the halftime of the Masaza football games. Other Competitions 
like Bika Byabaganda Tug of War Competition will also be setup.

Ronald Mayanja Omugalanda, the General Secretary concluded the meeting by emphasizing that with such continued stakeholder engagements, FUTWA's future is more sustainable.
